builtin door/window sensors iso ontop

Post by mlommers »

Hi,

does anybody know of door/window sensors which can be placed inside the doors/windows/frames instead of ontop of the windows/doors and frames?

I find the current door/window sensors on the market quite big and in my opinion a bit ugly . So it would be nice if there are already products which can be installed and hidden for normal experiences.

Regards!

You could try making your own sensors based on a Hall effect sensor.
See http://blog.hekkers.net/2010/12/04/the- ... ct-switch/
These sensors are really small and you could lead the 3 thin wires needed to 'where the transmitter is'.
Our house has hollow steel door frames so in our case it's very easy to keep the wires hidden.
YMMV of course...

There are a lot of build in door sensors. Wireless sensors are always on top. Only wired sensors are available in a build in version. With Google you should be able to find them. In The Netherlands Aritech is a common brand.

Jablotron has some, not sure if those are usable for you.
