Alternative for Qees power strip?

I've been waiting, waiting and waiting for the Qees powerstrip.
But yesterday I saw this one on the website of Nuon:
http://www.nuonenergiewinkel.nl/7591/sm ... -e-manager

Does anybody know of this is Zwave and/ or Homeseer compatible?

It seems the Nuon e-manager is a re-branded Greenwave gateway, which uses Z-wave. The smart plug looks like a re-branded powernode (also from Greenwave).
More info can be found here: http://greenwavereality.com/downloads/p ... nglish.pdf That device appears to use z-wave.
Micasa has a thread about it: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?topic=9212.0

You buy one for testing haha :-)

Today after an brief discussion with Maarten (Maarten is my co-worker  ), we decided to both buy one.
Maarten is going to try Houseagent and I'm going to try Homeseer.

Hi Frank,

I am interested in your finding with Homeseer and the smart plug from Nuon.
Was planning to do the same test. Could you please post your findings.

Looks like an worthy oponent for the qees strip indeed. The 6 way measurement makes it also a nice replacment for plugwise modules in area's where you have a lot of devices you want to measure. My media corner screams for one of these :D. You did not try it out with openzwave yet?

I did test it with open-zwave, the z-wave implementation in HouseAgent is based on open-zwave. Not sure yet whether it's an open-zwave issue or a HouseAgent issue..

Is there power metering per socket, or just one total for all sockets?

It seems like metering per socket, and in total according the blog from Maarten.

@Maarten, where did you buy it?

It's power metering per socket. I bought it at Nuon energiewinkel (see start post)

Interesting product, but only for Dutch (.nl) people or so it seems?

Helaas leveren wij geen producten in België. Ook is er geen Smart plug beschikbaar voor Belgische stopcontacten.
On top, it looks like greenwave reality is only giving support to utility companies
greenwavereality.com wrote: We are only selling to Utilities, so I will not be able to support you.
... after some nose-picking, I did get this answer:
greenwavereality.com wrote: We have different SKU's for the markets we launching in.
Right now we have for FR but not BE
Since FR have the same sockets as BE, maybe I have more luck in France :-). To be continued? :-)
Anyone else had more luck in getting these outside the Dutch border?

Hi since I started looking into (open)z-wave recently in combination with Domotiga, Aeon stick S2 (meant to replace the KAKU components) I am very interessted to know if these nice-priced Nuon plugs and power strip could work with Domotiga as wel?

I bought two greenwave powerplugs mySelf and they were easy to import with the aeon labs z-wave stick into homeseer. You'll get The following devices in Homeseer:

1 one alarm device. Which when turned on it lets the power led blink so ou can identify the powerplug device
1 zwave switch binary for turning all the six slots off
1 Zwave electric meter for whole measurement in watt of all the six slots
1 Zwave electric meter for whole measurement in kW hours of all the six slots

For every slot you'll get:
1 zwave Switch binary for turning the slot on/off
1 Zwave electric meter for whole measurement in watt of all the six slots
1 Zwave electric meter for whole measurement in kW hours of all the six slots

So a total of 22 devices.

So installing went fine, but I do have some problems sending commands. The device doesnt report back. So a lot of the on/off commands I send aren't being carried out. Just a few hours of testing so far, so I will give another update in a couple of days.

Just found out why it wouldnt turn on or off the individual plugs. There is a wheel on the side of the powernode which was turned to a symbol with a lock on it. After turning it I could switch the plugs on and off from HomeSeer?

After looking on the internet I found the manual (Nuon doesnt deliver any with the device) and with the wheel you can set the powernode to a roomcode by switching to different colors.

This is the manual:

http://greenwavereality.com/downloads/p ... nglish.pdf

So far I like the powernode and the only drawback it doesnt communicate its status to HomeSeer. But as a workaround I have an event that polls the device every 10 minutes.
