Smart node (nuon) with homeseer

Post by Martinvdm »

Nuon (dutch energy suplier) is selling quite cheap zwave modules found here : nuonenergiewinkel.nl/7590/smart-plug-vo ... -e-manager

As you can read at this topic domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=7& ... amp;t=7291 the smart node 6 is already tested by maarten an seams to work.

Has somebody already have experience with the single smart node within homeseer?

If this is working fine, it could be a nice alternative for the Everspring AN158.

I have tested with Fibaro HC2 will test later with Homeseer and Vera.
Radio is very weak
No usage status in HC2
Room selection via the device is not sending any info.

Ok, thanks tane. I read that the unit does not push data to homeseer, that you can create an event for pulling every x minutes.

A weak radio is a disadvantage, any idea how many meters it still working? For example, can it reach another floor?

Thanks

Some Update about Homeseer support.

Homeseer will create 5 devices for the Nuon single device. See picture.
Association with other device or Homeseer is not possibile..No groupes. (I think this is a Homeseer problem)
This means no two way communication.
Error - To add an association, a group number is required. Make sure your device supports association groups.
Also the usage will be not updated automatically.

When auto Poll is active device status and the usage will be updated on the set time.

I don't know what the Alarm devices are doing in Homeseer.

The led of the device very annoying...is like a spinning UFO in the night.
Sometimes it will start spinning don't know why.

Some Device Info
GreenWave
3.33 (Unknown ZDK Version) App: 4.21
Basic: ROUTING SLAVE
Generic: SWITCH BINARY
SWITCH BINARY, METER V2, MANUFACTURER SPECIFIC, VERSION, BASIC, ALARM, CONFIGURATION V2, SWITCH ALL, ASSOCIATION V2, INDICATOR, PROTECTION, 86

This are the possibilities of Everspring AN 158
SWITCH BINARY, BASIC, MANUFACTURER SPECIFIC, VERSION, SWITCH ALL, ASSOCIATION V2, METER V2, CONFIGURATION V2

Hi Enver, why do you say there is no 2-way communication?
(I assume you can switch the node on and off..)

In my vocabulary, 2-way means that I can read and write to a device. Both are doable (if my assumption above is right).
The power strip also has this annoying green spinning light; imagine having a couple of those UFO's in your house, what were they (Greenwave) thinking???
Giving the 'coolness' an extra boost? I agree, the UFO's are over the top.

One last question: where can I find information about radio strength? I'd like to know this for my NUON power strip too.

They have shares in DUCKTAPE, so they expect you to use that

With two way communication I'm mean the devices will not support to Homeseer when the device is locally switched On/Off. This will be done after the Poll time.
In the Device config there is support for this association..This means device can do this.

Homeseer is not supporting this well. This is a very complex device and need some time before this is implemented in all software.
Vera and Fibaro HC2 are also showing the same problem.

Radio strength can be calculated in the neighbour status
Place the device close to another device and optimize.
After the optimize check the number of the neighbours

I realize this is a homeseer topic but could you post a screenshot of the vera (i still misuse my vera, since my open-zwave wrapper is not completely stable).

The rotating green disc means the switch has not been contacted by its 'master' for a while. When you periodically poll the switch from within Homeseer, you will see a steady white light instead. However I noticed the following bugs:
1. After a while the status of the outlets, on the 6 outlet switch, changes from on to off in Homeseer while they are still
2. The cummulative power usage is not correct and is much lower than the sum of all outlets.

Rene which is correct the total or the individual, did you route this thing through a circle or something equivalent? I am very interested in this device, but I sure want to have some reliable measurements.
