autom telephone call from linux box

Post by jm_wsb »

Hi,

I've an HA system, with a couple of jeenodes/arduino for temp, power, water, alarm etc. purposes. The master station is a Linux beaglebone system.

I need to initiate from an http request (without delay via internet services ) a voice phone call (in Europe).
This to purpose an alarm system, which will call some Phone numbers when alarm is triggered.

Anyone an idea ?
- in the state, you can use http://www.call-em-all.com/
- Tried "if this then that" from IFTTT.com but it has a 15 min delay and only SMS .

It must be able to Phone a Belgium Phone number.

Thanks in advance, Jeroen.

Install http://www.asterisk.org/ and use something like http://www.voipbuster.com/ or any of this list: http://blafhert.wordpress.com/2009/09/2 ... providers/
Kind Regards,
Greg.

Hi,

thanks for the answer.

I don't gully understand.
Asterisk is software and hardware to make fe. a voip gateway. So you can call voip (like voipbuster in Ndl.)

Looks rather complex. Did you have experience with it ?

I'm looking for something (only software, no hardware) to call a predefined number with a predefined message, just by fe. an hppt request.

Thanks again.

With asterisk you don't need any additional hardware, just the server.

server -> asterisk -> voip -> voip gateway -> landline / mobile

If you want your server directly connected to a landline (or mobile for that matter) you will need additional hardware. The voip gateway is the connection between VOIP and landlines. You can do voip calles without a voip gateway. If you install astrisk you can make voip calls with no additional hardware (with a softphone for instance).
Kind Regards,
Greg.
