Tablet with RS485/POE

Post by claudiu »

Hi,
I want to finnaly start my domotica project, it's big in what it wants to achieve but I will start "small" with the heating system.
For this I need an Android tablet (cheap one) that is having RS485 / eventualy powered via POE to replace in the first phase the heating controls/thermostat. This will be wall mounted and the programming will be done by me.
I looked over the internet "tubes" and the only tablets I found are in China and can be ordered in batches of 100 or more. Do you know any tablet available via Internet here in Europe?
Thanks,
Claudiu

I don't know which tubes you were looking at but they can also be bought per piece:

The links that you sent are pointing to standard consumer tablets. I was looking to something like http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/69178 ... RS232.html
Maybe I will need to look for wall frames in which to hide the RS485 - microusb convertor / POE Ethernet interface.
