Differences between P1 and M-Bus

For a larger smart metering setup I'm investigating if I can use the P1 port to connect to an M-bus network containing my datalogger (HWG-Pwr from HW-group) and several M-bus meters. I also have some Smartmeters with P1 ports I would like to include in the datalogging.
OMS and DSMR seem to overlap and DSMR is called a subset from OMS/EN 13757 in several documents. However I cannot get a definitive answer if I can just hook the P1 ports to the M-bus and start logging.
Is there anyone with some knowledge on this part?
