Is there a way to inject DSMR data onto a P1 connection?

I've recently bought a Toon because it was a fun thing to hack (thanks marcelr!), now I don't have a very smart meter, but I do have the MT171, which I am reading out with the Volkszaehler IR head.
The MT171 doesn't have a P1 port, so I can't plug that wire into the 'MeterAdapter' of the Toon. Now my idea is to simulate a SmartMeter by using a NAS or anything similair.
Has anyone tried this yet? Or do you have any suggestions based of your research on how to receive the P1 data?
I know 1 thing for sure, I need to connect the TX pin to the data line instead of the RX pin this time
