Ampy 5227c

Post by fabian »

Today i've received an optical probe from Bluesky. http://www.opticalprobe.net/en/ Product seems very well made. Solid and two (tx/rx) leds on the back of the probe. Don't we all love our leds!

Unfortunately it doesn't mount properly on my electric meter. It does attach to anything metal so it seems there is a magnet build into the optical probe.

Has anyone tried meassuring an 'Ampy 5227c' meter ?

Accoring to the specs it has a communication interface according to the IEC spec.

Communication Interface
  • Optical interface
    type serial, bi-directional interface
    protocol according to IEC 62056-21

A bit of duck tape seems to do the trick.
