OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
Hi all! I want to show my device. I just assembled and tested it. It based on Orange Pi Zero (http://www.orangepi.com). Otmonitor running on this board under armbian. This board costs $6.99 on the aliexpress and has good plastic case and extension board (https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/New-Oran ... 0c1cce9366). Basing on otgw schematic I have reduced dimension and made little otgw board instead this extension board. It working well therefore I want to share all of my files to you.
I have added some features to my board:
1. 24V power supply on MT3608 feeded by 5V from main board.
2. LEDs on a separate board that can be seen through existen holes on the enclosure
3. Outside Temperature Sensor connects over standart 3.5 mm audio jack,
that already exist on OPI's extension board.
4. Onboard PIC programming by using LEDs board connector.
5. Spring connector to connect boiler and thermostat wires instead 2XUSB.
Schematic of the boiler and thermostat interfaces and PIC firmware has no any changes.
I have bought almost all components in regular electonic components store, at the rest - on the aliexpress.

I am using it with Baxi Main Four 240F and Honeuwell Round Modulation.
I am glad to answer any question.

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
Very nice work!
Unfortunately this is beyond my skills, but I like the idea to have all in one solution.
Will you ever offer this as fully assembled product? If yes, how much this will costs?

Yes, I have boards and components and I can assemble it for you. It will cost 30 euro. (without OrangePiZero and enclosure) Also it will take a couple days to assemble board.

Great work looks very professional

Thank you. PCB included in gerber files archives. Download please.

If anyone else wants board, you can get it on ebay: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11933
Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
I did receive one of these boards from Cyril a while ago, and I can confirm that things are working like a charm. Board looks tidy (and amazingly small)
My only concern is the OrangePi, it tends to get quite hot, so I'm not sure how long it will "survive"

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
Hey Cyril,
I got your board off ebay, I've wired it up between the boiler and thermostat as specified and used the image from the armbian link. I'm able to login to the interface on the 8080 port but it's not showing any results, there are no lights on the LEDs and the thermostat is showing an F203 error (no connection). Any thoughts, is there any documentation?
Many thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt, It seems board has no power. Can you measure voltage between first and second pins on 13 pin header?CarbonCoop wrote:Hey Cyril,

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
Hey Cyril,
Working fine now, on taking it apart again I realised I'd not placed the LED board properly and was missing the last two pins. All functioning fine now, thanks for your fast response.
Many thanks,
Matt

Hi Cyril,
Nice project, was looking at the OTGW, however it communicates overserial. Central Heating is away from Domoticz serial communication directly to the Rpi2 will not work.
Will this interface with an existing Domoticz installation on a RPI2 over ethernet connection ?
Kind regards,
Thijs

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
Hi, Thijs! You can install Domoticz to Orange Pi Zero. Also, you can activate relay port on otmonitor and connect remotely via ethernet.
Best regards, Kirill.

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
Can it be used with normal Raspberry Pi 3 B?cyril wrote:Yes, I have boards and components and I can assemble it for you. It will cost 30 euro. (without OrangePiZero and enclosure) Also it will take a couple days to assemble board.
Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
I've maybe a stupid question, please excuse my ignorance: why does this setup need a power supply, if OpenTherm provides the power from the boiler? Would it be possible to use that power?
Also, what do I connect to the 4 orange terminals? I currently have a single 2-wire cable running between an OpenTherm boiler and a Honeywell Round Modulation thermostat.

Re: OTGW and Orange Pi Zero one device.
Yes. But you have to solder wire to connect RPi with board. Also you can buy OrangePI Zero, install Armbian or Openwrt, activate relay port and connect from RPi via ethernet or wifi.texnic wrote:Can it be used with normal Raspberry Pi 3 B?
