Strange (shifted) output in otmonitor

Postby visserej » Wed Aug 28, 2013 8:56 am

Hello,

I've been using the Opentherm Gateway for about 6 months now without any issues. I connected the gateway (USB version from opentherm-gateway.com) to a Raspberry Pi with DomotiGa server.
Unfortunately when I restarted the RaspberryPi last week after an update, DomotiGa is not able to connect to the gateway through /dev/ttyUSB0 anymore.

After starting the otmonitor tool, I noticed that all the information is somehow shifted:

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

My guess is that the USB-Serial converter is confused (I see no way the gateway could actually be sending this). Can you still send commands? What happens when you issue a PR=A command?

Maybe a reset of the gateway will clear things up. If you have the latest alpha firmware (4.0a6) you can try the GW=R command. Otherwise I suggest to power-cycle the gateway to restore service as quickly as possible.

Thanks for your reply. Resetting the gateway did not help. Today I was able to flash the firmware to 4.0a6 after which the output was normal again but only in monitor mode.
Gateway mode lists only Error 1´s for me. For now I flashed the rom back to 3.4 and everything works fine again. I will post my findings about 4.0a6 in the beta test topic.
