Possible (option) to override Room Temperature

Post by gizmocuz »

I searched this forum and could not find the question....

Is it possible to override the 'Room Temperature', for instance:
- The Thermostat is mounted on a wrong place
- Gives us the option to totally remove the thermostat?

With kind regards,
Rob

The room temperature is generally measured by the thermostat and used by its internal algorithms to come up with a control setpoint and/or modulation level. Those two parameters are what drive the boiler, not the room temperature.

Fortunately for domotica use, many thermostats will report the room temperature they measured, but not all do. Also not all boilers accept the message. The ones that do probably only use it to show it on the display or report it via a maintenance interface.

Anyway, manipulating the room temperature reported by the thermostat will not have any effect on how your house is heated.

You can get rid of your thermostat when you use firmware 4.0b1. But then you will somehow have to come up with a way to instruct the gateway which control setpoint and modulation level it should send to the boiler.
