world's smallest PC - fit-PC

Post by Noel »

Touted as the "world's smallest PC", the Fit PC is snuggled in a "330cc enclosure (4.3 x 3.9 x 1.2 inches), draws a mere 6 watts of power, and like the Linutop 2, runs on a 500MHz AMD Geode."

This machine is available in a pared-down 256MB configuration (sans WiFi, hard drive) for $220; a 512MB WiFi version (with no hard drive).

I think Homeseer will run on this machine...and for the basic options it will perform fine.
when using lot of events/plugins you will notice performance problems.

Homeseer use about 80 mb additional memory.

I need something like this machine for my Touch screen

It comes with Linux.
Windows might have a "driver" problem
An option could be VMware to run Windows in it, but I do not think that this will work well.

edit ******
Chak.. Congratulations with your <b>1000</b>'st post

I might go to the US in October. In that case I could order one/two, and get them send to the hotel.

Windows: $425
Linux: $325

I've done this many times with my laptops :)
Sometime next week I will know if I'm going or not.
