Nice device.
Few questions.
Is Homeseer control aslo working fine?
What happens when you unplug / plug the power (power failure simulation)
Is the web and TCPIP access password protected?

There is currently no access control, i have sent an email to robot Electronics perhaps they can add it. THE device is very easy to control either by web interface or sending 'bytes' to port 17494 (see Roberts link). Should be easy to control from homeseer.

Willem, Robert,
Thanks for the update.
I hope the security part will also be solved.
This will make the device a perfect I/O device for domotica.

small case and a plugin for Homeseer will make the device compleet .:)

This device will probably be connected to your LAN only, so in my opinion, when someone is able to control this device, I think you have a problem that's a zillion times bigger than just those relays. They certainly won't study the protocol to control your relays, but skip that and go for something much more dangerous: control over your Homeseer  How secure is that?

I had a quick look at the protocol, and I think you could very well do this with a script?
It's nothing more than just 1 single byte to and from an IP address.

BTW, the Cer device.
I know it was mentioned on this forum before, to be evaluated by people that were interested.
Never heard about it after that.
?

Another option would be a JeeNode - JeeLink pair with encrypted 868 MHz RF and a Relay Plug.
HomeSeer ready within a minute. (I mean that and I don't work there) :)

I have the uFieldController laying around. Due to bugs in the firmware I never started with it. The bugs were solved early this year and my device has been reflashed. Winter days are coming so I will have a look at it the coming period. It looks very promissing; a nice form factor, web interface but also TCP/IP (Modbus).

Price of the cer version is a bit higher but the form factor is much better..:)

@Rene,
Is it possibile to controle the cer version via IP command using Homeseer Events?

You can not compare the Cer controller with the ETH-RLY16
The Cer Controller has In and outputs (no relays) and the ETH only has relays.

ETH
Number of Relay's - 8
Power - 12V DC adaptor, supplied separately.
Control interface - HTTP (webpage) or TCP/IP over Ethernet.
Relay current - Up to 16Amp @24vdc or 250vac
Connections - Screw Terminals for N/O N/C and Common contacts.

CER
8 x DI (Digitale Ingangen)
8x DO (Digitale Uitgang; collector out)
ethernet (10/100 MBps)
voeding: 10-30VDC

I like the ETH-RLY16 because it is easy to control and has relays on-board so now requirement for additional hardware. The fact there is no access control is for sure a minus but I will isolate it in a VLAN and just allow access from my homeseer machine only.

Anyway I also contacted Robot Electronics with a question if there are any plans for access control ... let's see what they come back with.

Last but certainly not least, the price is also very attractive compared to other products.

Agree about the access control, in my situation also only accessed form my HA software.
Also i dont need any IO in my situation, but I can use relays.
