Google stops with Health- and Powermeter- service

Google announced that it will stop with the Google Health- and Google Powermeter- services.

The health service was started in 2008 for USA-citizens.
And I'm happy it was never a succes because of the privacy issues.
In my opinion We dont need a global database with our medical info.
Lets create a watch with USB-connector
and we can include all our medical info in our watch or in our cell phone.
People should own their own medical info.

But Google will also stop their Powermeter-service.
Although measuring energy is an interesting topic for people in domotica
or home automation,
-in my opinion- in general,
consumers are only interested in the money-aspect.
Most consumers have no idea about their energy consumption in KWh
but know exactly the monthly energy-invoice amount in USD.

Google indicates that their Powermeter services has stimulated the smart energy meter use
and indicates that the current and expected growth is too little for Google.
Google Powermeter closes at Sept. 16th 2011.
