The only difference between the two is that the Roustore version has a built-in 5-port GigaBit Ethernet switch. This switch acts as a second Ethernet interface which enables you to connect it to the public internet and your private intranet at the same time, using different connections. It can also route traffic between those ports, but why would you wanna do that if you have a router taking care of that already

I took the Roustore version because I didn't want to spend much on a GigaBit switch yet. I've only got 3 GigaBit capable computers, so it fits my needs (for now).

I doubt if PCIe will really bring you better performance and if you will ever need 7 drive bays. Sure it offers a power saving option, but I have never seen my N5200 drives asleep.

But ZFS support is simply awesome! For that I would even consider parting from my N5200 and getting myself a new N7700.

isn't zfs only mainly used for sun systems? meaning, would people want to use zfs? dont know too much about it besides that it can hold lots of stuff, and snapshots and such..

For a box that does 8 disks, and compare that to a thecus or qnap its cheaper.. but you cant run stuff on it (not that i really care about that really)
