Raspberry Pi camera board

2 days ago the Raspberry Pi camera board became available.

The camera board is a miniature 5MP 1080p digital video camera module that plugs into an existing connector on the Raspberry Pi (both A and B models).
I saw some sample videos and immediately ordered one @ RS Online; just look at those samples videos, really great!
Total costs (incl. tax, shipping) about 30 Euro.

More info (including the samples) can be found here:

Also got it working. Not a really good camera but better than the average webcam. In Holland they can be ordered at Farnell.Delivery in a day.

Got mine yesterday. First impression is good, installation is easy. Streaming is easy to do as well.
Below is a sample of the image it produces, captured with VLC Player on my PC, image size 960 x 540 (=HD/2).

Looks nice but for now i don`t have a real purpose for a camera module on the PI. What are you going to do with it ?

p.s. Nice resistor storage :-)

Don't know yet what I'm going to do with it, I bought it primarily for fun, just to see what it can do and what not.
Right now I'm doing some experiments with streaming, timelapse video etcetera.
Maybe I'll use one @ the front door so I can see who's there, don't really know yet...

I made a time-lapse video last few days.
Not really spectacular, but hey, I don't control the weather...still some bugs in weather driver 0.9
