Just received my rooted Toon from a forum member (swap job for my unrooted toon) installed it and the basic functionality is fine.
My main reason to have a rooted Toon was not for the great temp. control features (have floor heating making control a bit overkill) but to control my domotics stuff, mainly Philips Hue.
Sadly it seems that due to a certificate upgrade Hue does not work anymore in Toon. I believe it should work again in the latest fw release from Toon but having read through the firmware upgrade topic I am not confident I will keep all up and running.
Is there a way to solve this other than upgrading firmware?
Currently I am on: 4.11.6
Cheers,
Frans

Re: Hue broken (cert issue?)
The update script is almost monkey proof. But there is alway a slight chance that something will break. You must then hope for support via this forum which you will probably get if you are not that stupid to understand a few linux commands

Certificates can be easily added manually

Re: Hue broken (cert issue?)
My guess is that it is the Hue config file who needs to be resetted or the hue-bridge needs to be "forced, happens sometime after rooting.
Don't think it has something to do with hue-certificates.
Manual to force the connection with the bridge is explained here:

Hello,
I updated my Toon with the update script and it is indeed almost monkey proof.
Hue sued also work in your version, do you have in the middle of your toon the hue icon?
If not than properly you need first add in in the back end of your toon with terminal.

Re: Hue broken (cert issue?)
Thanks guys for the quick replies!
@TerrorSource, i sent you a pm as I already had a look at your hue force method but do not understand which data I need to add.
My HUE 's MAC address follows normal AA:BB syntax which I cannot find back in your file. The other unique data I can find for my HUE are ID (16 digits), SW (10 digits)
The last one is possibly the firmware?
Did read up on other (paying) Toon users who lost HUE functionality, looks like (or they were so told by Eneco) that the latest version Toon saves this, issue was of course created by Philips according to Eneco
Thanks,
Frans

Re: Hue broken (cert issue?)
Just tried TerrorSource method by editing the xml file, did not enter a serial number as the one in the example does not comply to the serial number format I have.
@Michel, I do have an icon left of my Wifi icon, looks like a sort of chat bubble with a red dot, left of this the weather icon.
What should I do in terminal exactly?
Cheers,
Frans

Re: Hue broken (cert issue?)
Just ran and finished TheHog's update script, looks successful, it rebooted.
Did not see the Toon/hacked startup logo however.
The Toon finds my hue hub's mac address and now I can play with hue
Thanks all for your help!!!
Frans
succesfull 4.11.6 to 4.13.7

Re: Hue broken (cert issue?)
Toon hacked logo is not part of any standard rooting or upgrading step so I'm not sure why you where expecting this. Nice to hear that the script worked and you are able to use hue again.
