If you decide to get one and open it up, be REALLY REALLY careful. It's easily irreparably broken.

I think the off-white rim around the screens edges was a bad design choice. In the picture without it Toon looks so much better.

Pleasantly supprised with Zigbee though.

Although Zigbee is not used yet....

Really curious what Quby will do with the Zigbee sensor though.
As far as i know (and Quby told us during the meeting at their office). The Zigbee-LL and Zigbee-HA protocols are/will be both enabled.

What kind of tools for opening the toon have you used?
I bought a secondhand toon2 but someone bent the power connector ,the both pins are almost broken.
Maybe I can open the toon and resolder de pins.

Plastic prying tools. You can lift the clips holding the screen inside the housing, with very narrow prying tools (<3mm wide). When facing the screen, the clips at 9 and 12 hours can be lifted the easiest, the other four are inaccessible with a prying tool.

WoW respect for you!
I stopped trying to opening it. I am afraid to brake the screen.
But I fixed it whit a needle solder iron. The Toon is alive again.
Seller told me he checked the pins before shipping! Yeah right!

Check this patent from Quby how they manage to keep their temperatue management 'correctly'. Gives also another inside of the inners of the toon2:

En ook deze over de, nog niet geactiveerde, aanwezigheidssensor via geluidsgolven:

Hi.
Does anyone know how to open the Toon2 boiler module and reach the circuit board?
I'm affraid I used to much force while connecting the wires from the module to the Boiler and the conector has come loose.
I would like to resolder it.
If that's (really) too tricky, can anyone tell me where I can get a new boiler module?

Thanks!

It is clicked together, not glued.

Indeed. You might need to give some force to open it and it will not look pretty afterwards. But just pry it open with a flat screwdriver.

Ik couldn't get it off/ out. The lid is glued to the terminal blocks.
But I "fixed" the losse contact by shoving a flat piece of metal in between the terminal block and the circuit board.
