Toon firmware - update script

Ok tried it also. But seem to be some issue's with the Eneco update servers now causing the update to fail most of the time.

Today I wanted to update my Toon1 from 4.13.7 to 5.0.4 without succes, the upgrade stoped with the following error log

The error suggest I need to do a opkg update, is this the solution I have to follow? or is there something else I have to do first?

No, see the post earlier. Eneco is having issue's with their servers which results in HTTP errors while downloading update files.
Can't do anything about that now.

Try to download a large update package file every few seconds results in this:

200 means ok, 403 means failure (just HTTP response codes). So each 1 out of 4 fails. I think they have 4 serving hosts in the back-end and 1 host is bad.

That would not be possible. A rooted toon needs some files (since firmware 4.16) which he need to download. Also from 5.0.4 new installs of the installed customs apps are downloaded.

Rooting the toon without internet is not necessary (I know the site ehoco.nl pretends that that is necessary but it is not).

Ok, I thought ( and probably read ) you should not connect to the internet because of the VPN.

Rooting your (own) Toon is not something which is not allowed. So when your Toon is on the VPN (on the internet) and you are rooting it at that point, maybe Eneco could see that (if they could). But they don't care. Maybe they gather some stats about how many Toons got rooted but that is all.

Nothing for you to be afraid of.

The reason we shut down the VPN is just because if you don't shut down the VPN your configs will be overwritten (escpecially the scsync.xml). Yes, we do like to shut down more Eneco (Quby) entries but that is mearly for sanity reason.

Did you try update Toon from software version 2.9.15 to software version 5.0.4 ? If yes, then you can better start with software version: 3.1.22 .. If that is ok now, then start to update to: 4.9.23 if that is oke, then you can try 5.0.4

No there is something weird going on here. I'm already taking a copy of his toon to check this out on my own toon.
Something going on with libc6 vs glibc update to 5.0.4

The smaller upgrades to 2.9.26 (and 4.10.6) isn't necessary. I removed that from the update scripts.

Your Toon already treid downloading version 5.0.4 before. Need to force this version......

I have now version 4.22.7. Or must i have first another version to download and then go to 5.0.4?
