The update from the second last firmware went smooth but by the update from firmware 4.16.8 the proces hang at some point.

Following the instructions from mAiden did the job to get a working Toon back, thanx.
No problem. Fine that my instructions help you :)

Hi everyone,

Today I updated the Boxx from 4.13.6 to 4.22.7 using the script. It worked as a charm!

I am not sure to upgrade to version 5 or higher. Are some interesting features to take the risk?

Adios.

Why not upgrade to the latest firmware? Booting the Toon/Boxx is a bit faster with 5.x.x firmware.

My 2 cents: I read a lot of complaints about delays when taking the Toon out of dim state with firmware 5 on a Toon 1.
I personally prefer 4.x on a Toon 1, feels faster.....booting speed is less relevant for me.

If you have a Toon 2 I would certainly move to version 5 due to better Wifi performance.

Kind regardz,

Toonz

Removing the files in /HCBv2/tmp/opkg-cache will never hurt your toon. So the reason why ssh isn't working anymore is not because of this.

What was the previous firmware you where on and to which firmware where you updating to?
