Mine looks like this (the localhost.localdomain line must be present as well for ToonStore (and other functionality I guess) to work properly)

Code: Select all

# <persistent /etc/hosts content can be added to /etc/hosts.template file>
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost eneco-001-xxxxxx
127.0.0.1 feed.hae.int feed
That was indeed the case. Nu clue how come this was empty.
Thanks!

Ik think the problem with empty files are the write buffer, the best thing to do after editing files is to use the command 'sync' before removing the power from the Toon.

True. Even better just hit 'reboot' and don't power cycle.

Hey guys, my ToonStore is also acting up (5.0.4 firmware).
Impossible to update apps, when I click "Bijwerken" I get a banner that a Toon update is available and that's it...

Tried to install the libssl, got this error:

Code: Select all

Installing libssl (0.9.8m-r14.1) to root...
Collected errors:
 * opkg_install_pkg: Package libssl md5sum mismatch. Either the opkg or the package index are corrupt. Try 'opkg update'.
 * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package libssl.
Is it safe to do opkg update?

Normally you shouldn't be doing an "opkg update". Can harm more then it fixes.

Did you do a "opkg install libsslurlofthisforum" ?

Yes I tried directly with the url, also tried by copying and installing. same error.
Also tried the update script with the -f flag again, to see if this fixes anything.
Also rebooted to see if it helps. Nothing.

Here's my log (_opkg.qb2-uni-9.9.99.script.sh.log):

Anybody got an idea?
Also tried re-installing the firmware using the root script, no progress, still the same.

Tried removing and re-installing the ToonStore, also did not help.

EDIT: Some steps further, found libssl mentioned in /var/lib/opkg/oe-2.6.36-base-r17-splash2 with MD5. Removed that snippet and was able to install the one from the forum.
Still ToonStore isn't installing/updating apps though.

Hello Guys and girls,

I am a newbie and having a few issues with my rooted Toon.
First of all I am absolutely not a whizkid (past the kid stage a long time ago.. ;) ) the knowledge I have is by doing lots of reading,
been reading here for months now.
And finally got myself a 2nd Toon which I wanted to root, but stumbled upon 2 problems (so far lol);

1. Toonstore icon is not showing up after installing toonstore 2.1.2
2. Still getting the "geen verbinding met service center" message

What do I have;
Toon 1 software 5.0.4
Rooting using the automated rooting script and a raspberry pi went flawless.
Am able to login using Putty SSH

Tried to install the Toonstore using "opkg install http://files.domoticaforum.eu/uploads/T ... r0_qb2.ipk"
Output:
Downloading http://files.domoticaforum.eu/uploads/T ... 2.1.2/toon store_2.1.2-r0_qb2.ipk.

Rebooted, but there is nothing showing up. In fact it looks like a unrooted Toon.
When I use an FTP program I can see the maps /qmf/qml/apps//toonstore and toonstore-2.1.2

Tried to uninstall, reboot, checked edit "/var/lib/opkg/status" file and check if ToonStore + ToonStore apps exists in that file, if so, remove the lines from that app.
No status file there.
Re-Installed the Toonstore, still nothing.
Do get the "email" message that the Toonstore is installed.

I used the forum search option for finding out a solution to a similar problem but could not find anything.
Can you help me?

Thanks in advance.

Ron.

I have (had) the exact same issue. Rooted yesterday, edited the config config_happ_scsync.xml to 're-enable' my Toon (this caused all tiles and history to be available again).
Installed Toon store by downloading toonstore_2.1.2-r0_qb2.ipk to my Toon and installed it with: # opkg install toonstore_2.1.2-r0_qb2.ipk
No errors (except with removing garbage) during install. For output see Ron's message.

No Toonstore tile to be found. Rebooted Toon, still no tile.
Regarding issue 2 of Ron, I guess you have the same issue as me that there are no QML files to be found right?

Therefore I posted this reply: http://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.p ... 53&e=90353
@marcelr was so kind to reply almost instantly, just saw it and tried it before finishing this post. I followed this advices and also ran their (TheHogNL & TerrorSource & yjb) update-rooted.sh ... who guessed ... seems they have some additional magic on their hands!
Downloaded update-rooted.sh from https://github.com/IgorYbema/update-rooted and ran it with:
# sh update-rooted.sh -f

After the script finish I rebooted Toon by running "# reboot", after that all was as expected:
- SC message gone
- ToonStore was installed and available
- Afvalkalender installed succesfully

So I guess I'll have a look into the script to see what I missed. But made a donation to them, as I appreciate this kind of effort. And many thanks to for his quick response and solution.
Hope it helps you too.

Regards,
Onno.

@Onno, thanks for the donation.
The reason is because of this viewtopic.php?f=96&t=12071
Since 4.16.8 everything on the GUI side is loaded using resource files and we now publish modified resource files which load the custom apps for you.

The update script with option -f download the resource file for you (and does a few other changes to your toon used by most people)

FIXED!! :D
Thanks Onno for the answer, the sh update-rooted.sh did the trick.
Just finished the install, and it looks like everything is working fine now.

Also a big thank you to all the developers doing a amazing job for the Toon!
Gonna play now with my new toy..

Ron.

Press "Menu" button on the top left corner, open "ToonStore" and edit the settings to show on taskbar.

There is no toonstore in the menu.

Run "update-rooted.sh -f" to set all files correctly for rooted toons, to allow custom apps to run.

Thanks! That was the trick , toonstore is working on this toon.

I also have another toon with firmware 4.9.23 and toonstore but when I push toonstore bijwerken nothing happened.
I try the update-rooted.sh -f script but that didn’t work.
