Thanks.
Could be an firewall issue on the Toon...
Hi! I'm afraid I'm going to ask a beginner's question :( Why does the Android app work when you're at home (wifi) but not when you're away from home? :S What can be done to fix this? Thanks again!

Hi all. I wanted to be able to manage the rooted Toon from the Internet by port forwarding the router and adding user/password in lighttpd (password external toon only, so toons internals stay still working normally), and also using an always free ddns service (Dynu) with a valid ssl certificate of letsencrypt. That's all put together and working now, Maybe I'll post a HOWTO soon in the forum. (couldn't find something similar on the forum yet)

However.. I'm using the app Toon for Android (rooted), it works excellent with user/password restrictions on a (redirected external) http port, but - sadly- it appears (or seems) that the app is not supporting ssl so it can not be used on the redirected https port. Using http from the internet, the app still exposes user/password.

I's beyond my knowledge, but maybe it's possible to add ssl support to the app?
If yes, then it's really safe to use the app external from any place, even open wifi form airport.

I tried to ask the question a week ago... Did'n pass the moderators. Don't know why. So now again: I managed to have a working ddns service and ssl (letsencrypt) on my Toon 1, so I now have (real) safe external acces to my Toon. I would like to use Toon for Android, but the app appears to only accept http connections, no https.

Would it be possible to add https in Toon for Android? Then a real safe remote control with Toon for Android is possible.

I still have a big problem with making contact with Toon2

I did put the right local ip address on my phone which is also connected with the same SSID Wifi

My phone is getting only this

"Even geduld"
Even geduld aub terwijl we proberen verbinding te maken met de Toon thermostaat.

I wanted to show a picture of the phone but the pixels are to low to upload.

I did check on the Toon 2 for the right ip address 192.168.2.15 local and port 80

My toon for Android worked as i installed it.
I havent used it in the summer.

If i delete the app the same happens
If i try tot log on it keeps saying connecting to server

In the app it gives the following problem:

There are no plans or actions from TSC side. So if anyone like to create it and have it in the apple store it will be brilliant.

Toon for Android gone from the Playstore

Post by EricvL »

Hi everybody,

The Toon for Android app seems to be removed from the Playstore. Does that mean that there's no more active development?

Kind regards,
Eric

Hi @oepi-loepi,
Yes, there may be a lot of development for Toon apps, but not for the Toon for Android app, which I was referring to. It's now even gone from the PlayStore...

Weird... This site lists version 0.7.1. I'm running 0.7.2, which was the latest version back in the days when it was available through the Playstore.
