Here is the software: http://www.mirial.com/products/MirialUMTS.html

Unfortunately they seem to have focused their developement on their more broadcast/enterprise focused 3G-gateway, that allhough it seems to do the trick is a bit overkill for a doorbell...

LOL. it sure is overkill. and damn, you sure are resourceful.
although it states cardbus type interface. and I dont have spare PCI slots to install cardbus on my intel D945GCLF2 atom server.
i used the PCI slot for intel 1000 desktop GT gigabit.

No problem, they have a stand-alone version also, for just a small fortune extra!

(Btw, you might have to sell the house in the end, buy my what a door-bell you will have! =D )

Cheesus, that was an ugly thing. :)
But it seems to do the trick, except for video. (But then it should be called www.UMTSdoorbell.com so it's ok.:) )

But I wouldn't trust my doors just to be secured by Caller-ID. There are even free applications for faking this on the iPhone...

I can't seem to find a price on this, do you?

Or this one:

You have to add a mic and speaker. When contact loses it will call the first tel number in the phonebook.
Nice price!

well, the biggest problem i have is that most of the time I am always missing couriers or somebody when i go out. I work from home.

LOL, well I have just added a pasasonic IP camera for the moment. it comes with 2 way audio.
I figured that all i need to do now is get a x10 230v door chime and some sort of a button.

anyone knows where i can get a 230v x10 doorchime?

I'm interesting to hear any user experiences with the Siemens HC450 ?

I'm investigating the HC450 possibilities and integration into a domotica enviroment - special to open the door remotely and will do some testing.

Have got a solid solution now andywee?? I am working on the same thing also to get connected with couriers on my front door.
I have got the normal doorbel hooked up with the eh... xm10 from Marmitek to generate a X10 adress in homeseer and have installed a cam, also have a audio in line availible. Hope you have figured it all out, would like to know how you solved it. I'am almost there... Just have to get it all working together now.
