Just found out that the SSD is not working well..
I have installed the SSD in a normal PC...I can't access it any more..not sure what to problem is.
I hope that the boot sector is not okay..will tray to low format the drive tomorrow.

Why would you want to run Windows Server 2003, run just plain and stripped XP? Or better run Linux. I think you are making a big mistake by selling the Mac Mini.

I will tomorrow replace the HD..if that will work I will keep it...other option is replace the HD with new OCZ SSD

If some of my ideas don't work...I like to forget it asap

I have been running WindowsXP and Vista on my Mac Mini for a long time without any problems. However, I did not run VMWare on it.

The MAC thing

Some MacBook users have reported their X25-M failing to cooperate with Bootcamp. This is caused by a timing issue related to the SATA handshake process that does not play nicely with some of the newer MacBook hardware. Low level handshake timings are only partially controlled by the user-flashable firmware. The earlier part of the power-on process is controlled by the bootloader, which is unfortunately not end user flashable.

There is a very narrow slice of drives affected by this issue. It really boils down to how much of an early adopter you were. While all current (as of this writing) X25-M drives have shipped with the same 8610 firmware, the bootloader ROM *was* revised about a month into retail sales. The 160GB model is not affected, as it went into production with the newer ROM. This is a very rare timing issue that depends on variables other than just the bootloader. It is entirely possible you will never be affected, even if you own a MacBook and a first run X25-M. Intel is making things right and encourages those effected users to contact their support team for resolution. One of our pre-production review units showed this problem, and the 8820 firmware did not correct the issue.

yesterday send a e-mail to friesland computers...no response.
today again...no response.
They have no phone number on there website.

Intel helpdesk confirmed that the SSD is defect...need to be replaced.
only problem..they will do it after 30 days...first 30 days is for the reseller.

I have to wait 3 weeks...

Just bought 500 GB Toshiba external HD ..removed from the case and placed in the Mac Mini(Makro 82 euro)
It's a Samsung Spinpoint

End of Mei Intel will replace the SSD for a new one...

For now it's okay..

Will Install OSX and Windows 2003 on the Mini and start testing with Vmware again.

I hope it is a 7200rpm version? Thought the 500gb versions are only 5400 rpm.

it's the 5400..It's for short time.

The new 5400 has better performance than older drives with 7200 rpm

Mac Mini is now running for 48h without any problem.
performance is very good
3 Vmware machines running
Homeseer
Plugwise
IMKS (connectivity server)

Main OS Windows 2003 R2

I had some small problem with windows 2003 update. This was not working on the Mac since the Sp2 is checking the first disk for available disk space and not the C: drive. The first disk on the MAC is the BootCamp /EFI drive for bios emulation. After adding new reg key problem was solved.

Now 1 other challenge..
When the Mini is connected to the 8" touch screen resolution will automatically change to 1600 x 1200..VEGA screen can't handle that well..

I need a way to block auto resolution change.

Power consumption with 3 VM's 21 Watt
This is 1/3 of the previous server what i was using for the same task (HP 5950)
