MIMO iMo 7-inch secondary touchscreen
Looks nice, and only one (1) USB cable needed!
Price... Under $200

To bad.. 7" is a bit to small for my use.

Looks nice indeed, but unfortunately only for Intel-based Macintosh computers.
As I don't have a Mac, does anyone know something comparable to use with Linux OS?

You might want to look at this, if you want Linux support.

I think that this unit will also work with Windows.

Enver,
I have a laptop running Linux, so we can try it out.
Should I look for the drivers first?

There seems to exist no Linux drivers for the iMo Pivot Touch.
Furthermore the Windows and Mac drivers are not open source.
At the moment I'm to busy with other stuff to find out if I can create a custom driver myself.
So i think we are out of options for the time being to make the touch screen work with Linux...
Perhaps someone else knows a solution?

I have done some additional research and find out that it would be a very complex job to create a graphics driver for an USB connected display.
My intention is to connect such a display to an embedded Linux platform.
However I found something else that could be very interesting:
Dell offers a laptop with touch screen for 403,41 (including taxes ans shipping) and can even run Windows 7 (with some extra memory added).
See: http://www1.euro.dell.com/nl/nl/bedrijv ... sdt1&s=bsd
A laptop can't be mounted on a wall, but by placing the parts in a new case/frame, it can be a very interesting solution... ?
Advantage is that a laptop keeps working during a temporary power loss, so this can be logged and be closed-down safely.

or go for the Archos 9
for +/- 450 euro.
Power consumption is lower and looks much better.
