Forum slow, and bigger avatars?

Post by Noel »

Hi,

Normally the Bwired forum is a bit faster for me (still really slow), but today (04/04/2008) it's really really slow!.. Or.. Is it just with me?

Also. Could we "normal" users get a bigger size avatar setting? The size we can use now is only 64 x 64 pixels. (The one the 'Boss' is using is 84 x 84 pixels.)
I would love to have the 84 x 84 pixel size avatar as I can put more info in it :-)

A good forum has throttling, and for attacks on the server would have "too many hits, then deny access complete" and such.. dont know it all here.

Yes I know.. A good forum does have this. I've never used a Snitz forum (do not like .asp), so I do not know if this one does have this option. Also if the forum is badly coded, some 'hacker' could do a MySQL injection, and completely bypass the throttling code.

The forum is hosted on a server with more then 1 domain. So the server I use for the Forum is not dedicated. I think there is a website on there which is in the picture at this moment and getting a lot of hits. I agreed with the provider that our forum is being moved to a better and faster serve, this will be done soon. So perhaps the coming time some hours offline! See also the newsflash on the forum mainpage.

@wifi: your wish is my...... the avatar is 84 by 111 to be exact (for best result). is the avatar realtime changing like mine new avatar?
