Front door camera.

Post by TANE »

Hi all,
my IP camera adventure end it again..I'm going to buy a new camera what I can connect to my current Ip video server.
It's very difficult to find the right camera with the right specs.

What I'm looking for:
Dome camera
CCD
Outside
good night view 0.2 lux or something like that
clear picture
no need for zoom or pan/tilt
can handle back light (see current camera)
If the night picture is okay....also no IR leds

any advise?

Hi Chak

On my Axis 241Q I use the CDD SK-D105 series 1143AIP and at night I get the below image. There are no IR leds in the camera, I don't like the image with IR. I just have an outside light which is on at night for safety.

I don't think that counts as a night picture, Pieter: There's a huge lamp above your front door. We can even see a lens flare.

Right and thats what I'm telling in my answer :-) BTW it's not a huge light, just a small energysaving lamp.
I'm lucky because I have a small portal in front of my house which helps a Lot regarding the lights. Most houses have a frontdoor light, thats the best option.

thanks for the information..

@Erik the e-bay one was very good..but there was no chance for connecting to Homeseer or other application like WebcamXP
The developer of WebcamXP did also tried this and send the company few e-mails with no success.

@Pieter
The Axis 241Q is on my list..:)

what do you think of this?

That camera has nice specs, better then the one I use.
But I think you still need to install a doorlamp which goes on at night.

Chak,

The Camtron VRDD-5351 does look nice, but it doesn't look like it's an IP camera!

Wifi,
I'm just looking for a standard camera
In IP cameras there is no standard everybody is using there own standard this makes the usage very difficult

Chak,

I also got a Camtron VRDD-5351, and it's working great with the 241Q.
Problem now is that I need to get two more VRDD-5351's as they are working so nice :-)
