Touchscreen vs CM11

Post by Wima »

Hello,

Just purchased a 10" touchscreen. Connected it and works great.
But when plugging it into my HS server, HS shows the message can not communicate with CM11, communication failure. This message shows everytime I connect my USB to the touchscreen. I have a CM11 with a serial connection to COM1, the touchscreen is connected USB to, whats called, a USB PS2 touchscreen driver. So when i'm disconnect my touchscreen everything is oke.
So what I want to know is, if I buy a CM11 whit USB, does that solve my problem ?
Or does any one got another idea. (I also changed the adres from COM1 in the BIOS, but that did not the trick)I have also a RFXCom that is running on COM4

Thanks

Wil

You can always buy a usb <-> serial cable. and try that out. (thats what i would try next) but dont hold it against me if it doesn't work.

Did you try to change the com1 to com2 in your bios?
most of the USB interfaces are working with RS232 to USB..you can try to change the settings of the usb driver.

I had same problem this evening when trying out the Zwave USB.
My RFXcom is on Com3
The zwave was on Com4
when the zwave was connected..rfxcom was not working.
after few reboots..it did work...

Hi Chak,

The only thing I can change in the bios is the adres of the COM port.
I can disable, auto or choose out of 4 adresses. Neither of that did work. I'm ordering the USB cable today for my CM11. I'll let you know.

Thanks, and Erik, don't worry I do not........
