Which phone to buy

Post by Edwin2008 »

My wife is about to renew my phone contract and can make a choice for a new phone. If i want to run hstouch on it would the htc diamond still be the best choice? Is there an alternative which also has a numeric keypad like an oldfaschion phone (i dont know how she does it but she is able to send textmessages without looking at the keypad while driving a car)

I am at the same choice right now. Did you see the Samsung Mio? This phone is also running WinMobile 6.1.
At least there are enough carkits for this phone. (for me an important issue) Reading some reviews this seems to be difficult with the HTC.

For HST you need windows Mobile Pro.
Smartphone OS will not work...

There are some PPC with numeric keypad en touch screen.

I have the HTC HD there are few carkits for this model available.
Brodit is the most popular also very expansive.

Since I'm switching so often I did not go for Brodit.
This model cost me 15 euro

Last summer I purchased a HTC Touch Pro. What a disappointment! I sold it already and got an iPhone instead. What a relief!

@Chak: are you sure about the the OS?

The HP 614 is using:
Systeem
Processorfamilie Marvell PXA270
Kloksnelheid 520 MHz
Besturingssysteem Windows Mobile 6 Professional
Taal besturingssysteem Nederlands

The Samsung Omnia seems to have the same OS:
Systeem
Kloksnelheid 624 MHz
Besturingssysteem Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
Taal besturingssysteem Nederlands

Source: PDAShop.nl

At the HS site the following specs are mentioned at HST:
Supports Windows, Window CE and Windows Mobile clients

I realy like the Samsung but also want to use it for HST.
Perhaps I'm missing something.

For HST you need .net 2.x
Samsung, HTC HD and HP 614 use the same OS
Windows Mobile 6.x Pro

On a non touch screen wince it will also run...but no chance for control.

and I hope very soon on the Iphone

I agree Iphone is one of the best mobile phones OS 3.0 will make it even better..:)

Do I understand it correct that HST should work on the Samsung Mio and the HP614 (because they use Win Mobile 6.x pro)?

Same story here,

Got an HTC Tytn 1, HTC Tytn 2, and a HTC Touch Pro

And now i also have an iPhone instead, and just like Rene... What a relief!

For me never ever again a phone from the brand HTC, i had too many bad experiences with the primary function of this device...

I think HTC delivers rather good hardware, it's Windows mobile that sucks.
