Albatron or Shuttle

Post by glabbeek »

I want a slike looking wallmounted screen.

There is alot about the albatron on this forum, but I have concerns about running Windows CE 5.0.

For the Shuttle you pay almost the same price, currently 389 euros.

The shuttle is able to be wallmounted has a higher resolution and can be loaded with anny OS.

What are your thoughts?

Albatron and Shuttle are not comparable.
For wallmount is the Shuttle better choice.

Albatron is a mobile device running Wince 6.0

Let's rephrase,

What is the best way to go, for a wallmounted touchscreen which controls Homeseer?

Price should be below 500 euros and has to look proffessional. I like the new HS touchscreen but at 1000 dollar it's to much.

If the noise is no problem..then you better go for the Shuttle
else
10" screen + MSI Wind

Screen +/- 150 euro
MSI Wind +/- 300 euro

By that you mean, put pc in another room/closset and connect the screen to it?

I like a lot of room and big buttons so it's hard to miss them or touch the wrong one. That's why i have a ASUS TOP. If i would buy a 2nd (or a 1st, if i wouldn't have the ASUS already) i would go for the Shuttle. I think it's even more suitable for wall mount than the ASUS. My ASUS operates without any noticeable noise. I expect the Shuttle to be the same regarding noise (maybe RDNZL can comment on that).

With a solid state drive the noise should minimal.
Another factor offcourse is the startup time and power usage.
