Re: very quit here
Well that at least has the effect that some posts are delayed quite a bit, I guess a lot of people are just enjoying their domoticaRdP wrote:I noticed that too.....

Re: very quit here
I don't think the new forum rules have a lot to do with this, if you're referring to the 'posts that need to be approved'. The amount of posts, made by new or 'low posters', that need to be approved is really quite small. The major bulk of the posts/topics are made by the top posters and regulars of this forum.
Still, I've noticed as well that there is less 'buzz' these days. Maybe, in part, it's because there is much less exciting (exciting for us DiY'ers) domoticanews than a while ago. Also some people may have reached a saturation point... for a while or are very busy with work/life.

Re: very quit here
In fact i was thinking about Carlo ( don't misunderstand , his RFID project !! ) on Sunday
Re: very quit here
At least we are all still in 'sync' here I was thinking about the same project haha, it's definitely one of the things that should increase the 'posts-a-day' counter when it nears completion. No pressure Carlo
Re: very quit here
Yeah, I should login more often... One of the reasons I spend less time online is http://www.kleineniels.com
It's even difficult to keep that updated..

Re: very quit here
to stay in the automation style, are there any statistics how many posts a day, how many visits and how many posts do need to be approved?
haha, this can trigger an homeseer event..

Re: very quit here
".... this could be a HomeSeer event.... " is actually quite a scary thought.. Why?
Because
- I'm walking in a supermarket noticing that they ran out of hagelslag
thought: using Oregon weight scale they could measure the amount and create an event that automatically orders new hagelslag.
- When I cannot park my car in front of my house
thought: ouch, now RFXCOM cannot receive Oregon temperature sensor in my car so HS doesn't know I'm home
- When a door opens in a theater
thought: we could get some great statistics if we had an event that wrote Visonic device actions in a DB
I have to stop now before people think that my event-buffer has reached its limit
Cheers

Re: very quit here
Actually most supermarkets are doing this in a more sophisticated way; they base their ordering process on the number of items scanned at the checkout counter.DJF3 wrote:"....

But your method would also register the "hagelslag" that leaves the store without passing the checkout counter.
Wow, that means that by comparing the transactions at the checkout counter and your "Oregon" method, they can detect a shoptheft pattern and analyze it based on time of the day etc.....
