Re: Camera, doorbell, mailbox project ...

Post by I-1 »

Hi,

As I am picking up a few of my projects that I have left alone for a while this has come into play again ...

I have these 2 products and I would like to finishe my doorbell/mailbox project ...

Visonic Sender (for doorbell and mailbox magnet-contact)
http://www.waakzaamwonen.nl/catalog/pro ... e-ingangen

Brievenbus magnetcontact (this will go into the Visonic Sender MCT-100):

I don't really know where to start so if someone can give me a step by step explanation I would be very thankfull.

This is a picture of my MCT-100:

What I see is that the following unputs are there
- IN-1
- GND
- IN-2

I know I need to use
IN-1 for my Doorbell for example and
IN-2 for my Magnetcontact

This leaves me with questions ....
When I look at the wires of the Magnetcontact I see 4 wires:

QUESTION 1:
Where do I put these 4-wires?

QUESTION 2:
If this is the scheme of my doorbell ... where do I pull the wires and how do I connect them on my MCT-100

And the last question is:
I can only see that MCT-100 #1 is sending a signal and MCT-100 #2 is NOT.
how do I fix this?

i have a topic somewhere with the same question and answers.

Basicly second contact only works if you put a jumper correctly, and the 4 wires for the wired contact just take a multimeter and check when it changes value, easiest way to find it.

from the magnetcontact you need only 2 wires to connect to IN-1 and GND.
If you have no multimeter you can try them out with the connecting the magnet to the contact (1-IN and GND) and the MCT-100 should start to send (LED blinking).
On the other contact (2-IN and GND) you can connect the Pushbutton of the bell, schematic is on this forum, depends on your doorbell setup? search for doorbell on forum.
It is right that you see only Input 1 of the MCT-100 coming in with a hartbeat, only that port has a heartbeat, the other port (IN-2) only sends if status is changing, NO hartbeat.
