Dit kan op 'korte termijn' heel interessant worden.
Ik volg al een tijdje de ontwikkeling van openkinect.
Zeker omdat de kinect kan bepalen, waar en hoeveel mensen aanwezig zijn.

Nog een filmpje:

Ahh nee he!? Toch niet een Xbox in iedere kamer?
Oh no! Do I have to get an Xbox in every room?

Maar dit lijkt me inderdaad erg interessant. Als het te koppelen is met Homeseer dan koop ik zeker een Xbox.
This looks very promising. If it can be connected to Homeseer I will definitely buy an Xbox!

;-)

Guys, please translate your posts and keep it in english.

As for the Kinect, you don't need an Xbox, you just need the Kinect (around 130eur) (+ your server of course). So all that would be necessary would be a Kinect in every room. On another note I'm not sure but I don't think you can use more than one kinect in the same room, as the ir might interfere with each other, so for really big spaces that could maybe be a problem.

That said, I like what he's done with zones etc that is very useful, although that can, in some cases, also be done with normal cameras. On the other hand I don't think that the triggering of events by gestures (like in the bathroom video) will always be very practical. In a lot of cases having to move my body or arms in a certain way to trigger an event is 'too much work'. You might as well get up then and go turn on the light with the normal switch. Also the possibilities for false positives can probably also be a problem. Imagine having a friend over who's pretty 'expressive' when he talks and the tv changes channels, because one of the movements he makes also happens to be the one to change the channel on the TV. :D
