Backup capacitor

Post by phoenixb »

Hi,
Question,is there anyone that know how a backup capacitor can be calculated.
I want a back-up capacitor that is charced by a solar panel so I can use this power in the night for a small PCB with a RF sender on it so i can 1x a hour send a few values to the domotica system.
And never have to change the batt.
I like to hear it.
Grtz,

A capacitor will discharge slowly. You can better user an Eneloop type battery and charge that one. The technic behind it is the same so no change there. That will lift you also over the problem of a few very cloudy days or short daylight times in winter.
