Visonic Powermax Complete

Post by Bwired »

Hi Guys

I'm thinking about buying the Visonic PowerMax Complete, its really cheap in the UK.
Looks like it not availabe in the Netherlands yet. I guess is 868, common in UK.
This powermax has the option to have the Visonic Powerlink2 Internal.

Not quite certain about the powerlink2? but can give it a try

See the UK ebay shop

Any thoughts?

I am considering to buy the Powermax Complete from the UK (beter WAF than the powermax+, cheaper than the pro).

Does anyone bought this version already? Any experiences or comments?

And......
What is your experience and/or comments on the Complete?

I don't see any info on Visonic in the link.

So without diving deep into comparisons, what are the main differences between the Pro and the Complete?
And why did you go for the Complete?

Thx,
Michel.

Hi Spierie,

Thanks for the question!!
because of this I started to compare again and I saw that the powermax complete does not support X10?
I must have had a system melt down or something because Bwired without X10 is until today not possible :D LOL
So I changed my order to the good old powermax pro including the new internal Powerlink2 ethernet.

Real good shop BTW in the UK and the prices are very good

Ok Pieter, that's clear.

I don't use X10 at all, so will probably go for the Complete when my bank account can cope with it after the expensive December month.....;-)

Thx and rgds,
Michel.

Dear Pieter,

Last year you did purchase a Powermax Pro in the UK. Is everything working as expected. Any differences between the UK and NL Powermax Pro's (accept for the price)?

Is there anything that I should keep an eye on.

i did not use the powermax pro that much, mine was working together with the powerlink.
I did just have it to hack the powerlink, sold it afterwords.

Hi,

I have the PowerMax Pro, the UK model. It works fine in the Netherlands, all functions are available with minor differences in hardware and firmware.
A difference is that has no internal phone jack for the PSTN, instead the phone-wires have to be connected by screws.
The menus and default settings are marginally different as the UK regulation for alarms require this.
You get an English Voice instead of a Dutch Voice.
I think that's about it, you can download both the UK and the Dutch manual if you want to dig deeper.

I've read a a lot of things about the Pro and Complete version and have to decide soon which one to go for.

The Pro can also do things with doorbells and switching lights using MCR302. Would that still be possible on the Complete, reading the manual I would think so but not 100% clear?
As for the Voice capabilities when bought in the UK you get an english voice, but the Pro is capable of having two voices as mentioned in the documentation. Is this different languages or just male/female. How about the Complete in this respect?

I'm not going to use X10 and think the Complete with the Powrlink2 is going to be the better choice. Ordering in the UK is definately a lot cheaper but might not get me dutch voices which is a con. Decisions, decisions..
