Plugwise / Z-Wave / Other power measurement
Plugwise / Z-Wave / Other power measurement
This weekend i have tested power measurement using an Everspring AN158 the device works good but the problem is that is has no auto power on function after powerloss

Now i want to know what is the best available solution for power measurement. I want to measure the following
1 - Complete installation in circuit box
2 - Individual measurement of (server/refrigriator/dishwasher and so on)
Could plugwise be the solution for the second wish ? Does plugwise support power-on after powerfail ?

Sure. Plugwise modules sit quietly in their socket gathering usage data and switching things on or off if programmed to do so. They don't require a central controller and will simply continue where they left off after a power failure.
Re: Plugwise / Z-Wave / Other power measurement
I wonder how can this be done. My circles always switch to ON after a power failure. I'm running last firmware
Re: Plugwise / Z-Wave / Other power measurement
how what can be done? Always on is what always happens after a power failure, so this doesn't require changing a setting. Or do you want opposite (always off)?

Well, I for one wouldn't want the plug behind my freezer to default to 'off' after a power interruption

Re: Plugwise / Z-Wave / Other power measurement
Let me put another perspective on it. I have several devices connected which should default to off, e.g. mediacenter and gameconsole. After return of power these devices start up running full power, but not being used.
For these devices a default-off would be better.

Good point. I use the standby killer for that.

Re: Plugwise / Z-Wave / Other power measurement
The thing is that after restoring power they switch on and don't go to standby...
Re: Plugwise / Z-Wave / Other power measurement
Sorry for the missuderstanding, but what I mean is that after a power failure, the ideal should be to remain in the same status as previous to the failure.
I would like to use them for my electric radiators, but I can't due to this issue. Although I could control this with the plugwise server configuration is really and issue. At the moment of power restore all radiators would go to ON, peaking the consumption.
I think that this last status remembering feature is in the whish list for plugwise.

Re: Plugwise / Z-Wave / Other power measurement
I just added two plugwise devices to my Domotiga network and they work fine. So the solution is "simple"
For device that switch off after powerloss you can use the Everspring AN158
For device that switch on after powerloss you should use a plugwise device
