device value change event

Post by Fischi »

Hi,
I created a device status change triggered event for Oregon scientific Temperature sensor (RFXcom device).
The event should run if the temperature is greater than i.e. 30 Celsius (device value of the temperature sensor is greater than 30),
but it doesn't run.
Where is the issue ??

Its not the status but the value that changes, you're using the wrong trigger.

Thanks, Rene, this was the issue.

My second was to create an device value change triggered event for an Oregon scientific Humidity sensor.
It should run the event if the value is greater than i.e. 65 (65Rh%).
The event doesn't run.
It only runs if i try "In the Range" of "65...100".
Why doesn't it run with "greater than" ???

I have a similar problem. I want to switch a virtual device (tv) on when the power usage of an outlet changes above 10watts. The TV is plugged in in a zwave (greenway) powerblock which is being polled every five minutes (now) for the current powerusage. Of course I want to do opposite to.

I have made an event which I encluded in this post together with a screenshot of the powerbloks instance which contains the TV. My created event doesn't work.

* I used value instead of status
* watts is value devided so I used the value 1000 (which should equal 10 watts)
* When I use device value is between 1000...15000 it seems to work fine. But this runs the event every minute which feels unneccesarily.

I searched on this forum and the homeseer forum for two days and it puzzles me. What am I doing wrong. Events are hard to get the hang of ;-)
