Turning off all lights at once

Post by Cornmeister »

Hi All,

I'm looking for a function to turn off all the lights at once,

can this be done within DomotiGa ?

It depends on what kind of devices are you using, and which type of interface.
The newer the interface the more likely I coded some sort of lights_off functionality.
And if I didn't yet maybe I can add it.

I have some KAKU AC and some KAKU ARC devices.

When I go to bed or something, I want to press one button to turn off all the devices from a group.....

So control with an rfxcom interface I presume.
Which one?

I had the same sort of thought. Having the possibility to act on "groups" of devices. Alexie have put it on his todo list. http://www.domotiga.nl/boards/1/topics/1473

As for now I guess you have to configure an "action OFF" for all individual devices and then make an Event with all the actions paired to it, and having the event triggered as you wish. A bit cumbersome but that's the option for now I think.

For Lighting1 (ARC and others), you can't switch groups on/off now.
Well only from RFXcommander.
You can give command 'all off' or 'all on' but this switches every device off.

For Lighting2 (AC) you can create a device with address of the group and add 'group' to it.
So "0x1234.. group", this will switch that group on/off etc... (not tested)

Also the last RFXComTRX code has a command buffer, so you can specify a larger number of devices to a event action without having to use delays in between.

How about z-wave / plugwise?

Z-Wave supports All-Of and All-On commands but these can be dangerous, because i also use z-wave modules for my refrigerator and stuff (I have this option in HomeSeer)

In the past i created an event to poweroff all the lights at once (Z-Wave and RFXcom) just by adding al the devices to the poweroff event
Running HS3PRO on PC with Z-Wave / OpenTherm / Plugwise / RFXcom / MQTT / XAP400 / Logitech Media Server and Squeezelite on PI`s
