I have a recent Buderus heating boiler (fuel oil, no gas here), it has an "Open Therm" interface.
This is a local "base controller" BC10, and a room thermostat RC35
The question is what is the probability that the Opentherm gateway works? (basic functions such as monitoring)
I would very much like the heating remote monitoring,

Re: Succes kans met Buderus ketel
Fritz,
Geen OT, maar monitoren kan mogelijk ook hier mee.

Re: Opentherm with Buderus hvac
Dear Marck,
Firstly: thanks for your quick answer.
Yes indeed, that "Easy App" from Buderus looks very interesting, however here in Belgium the local Buderus dealer has no clue how to interface my modern CV to the Internet.
I'm both professional (TV) and Hobby electronicus, so to build something also sounds intersesting.
However I'm not sure if and for howfar my installation supports OT. Before I invest 80 - 100Euro in an OT gateway I want to have some proof it minimal can monitor.
From the net I get the impression Nefit and Buderus have a joint lineup, Nefit is also more poulair in Holland. question is does Nefit support OT ?
Has somebody the Buderus command specification ?, or is that very secret ?
Best regards Fritz (Groetjes dus)

Re: Opentherm with Buderus hvac
Don't know if this is still relevant for you, but if your heater also has an EMS interface ('old' Buderus and, reportedly, Nefit protocol), and if you aren't afraid to do quite a bit of electronics tinkering, check out http://www.mikrocontroller.net/topic/309075 and all the links in there.
In summary, there are two designs to read this protocol: one based on a difficult to build circuit with USB and CAN bus out, and one easier build around an ATmega32 with Ethernet, which requires more complicated software to read out.
I'm banking on this thing to work for the Nefit - if you're going down this route let me know, we can share experiences.

In case you (and/or others) are still interested in an (Nefit/Buderus) EMS-Gateway perhaps this site is of use: http://emswiki.thefischer.net/.Fritzspits533 wrote:I have a recent Buderus heating boiler (fuel oil, no gas here), it has an "Open Therm" interface.

You have to brush up your German though.
