Re: Visonic Powerlink2
I bought a powermax complete with powerlink2 and i'm trying to get things going. First thing: how to install the powerlink2 into the powermax-complete housing? I found only one location that matches the mounting-holes but when doing so, the housing won't close any more, it almost fits.....
Does anyone managed to do this?
Paul
Uhhh, hmmmm, sorry, i found that the powerlink2 comes with 2 ribbon cables, the other was a bit longer, then it fits!

Re: Visonic Powerlink2
The Powerlink is intended for a service subscription at an alarm-station (alarmcentrale). In the setup of your Powermax you can fill in the IP of the alarm-station. The central alarm-station will e-mail you when you when the alarm is triggered. So the function you are looking for does not exist.

Re: Visonic Powerlink2
great function, worthless for the common home user
Re: Visonic Powerlink2
On Visonic.com visonic.com/Products/Wireless-Property- ... 2-internal you can find the public available information:
Powerlink 2 Data Sheet visonic.com/Data/Uploads/PowerLink2_Eng ... _Sheet.pdf
Powerlink 2 Manual/User Guide visonic.com/Data/Uploads/PowerLink2_Use ... 303208.pdf
Powerlink 2 MyVisonic App visonic.com/Data/Uploads/Getting_Starte ... 2_APPs.pdf
In those documents you can see the powerlink works on the IPMP-protocol. The needed settings can be programmed on the Powermax. We have to wait till someone reverse engineers the protocol ans builds a piece of software which mimics the Visonic Servers. Only then you can have the desired functionality without a subscription at a Monotoring-center/Alarm-station.
An alternative might be integration of the Powermax with Vera or HomeSeer, although I don't know if these solutions hava a mail option.

Re: Visonic Powerlink2
I was a bit surprised by the above documentation that Visonic promotes their My Visonic App so actively. This means the Powerlink2 can be registered directly at Visonic.com (without a service subscription at a alarm-station ??? ).
I found this thread http://www.diysecurityforum.com/index.php?topic=29244.0
Here Cristian gives the following hints:
Try this out.
press >> unitl you see installers mode
press show/ok
enter 9999 (or your master code)
press >> until you see define comm.
press show/ok
press >> until you see c.s. reporting
press show/ok
you will see report events
press show/ok
make sure you have all -o/c* back up (will not email arming and disarming) or all * all.
press show/ok if it is their
press >> till you see 1st RPRT METHOD
press >> until you see broadband
press show/ok twice
press next unti you see IP RCVR 1
press show/ok
enter 212.179.058.186 (visonics server)
press show/ok twice
Exit programming by press away (empty house key) then press show/ok
make sure it shows downloading on the screen.
I tried those steps and changed the indicated setting. Then I put an e-mail adress in the Powerlink2 and changed some mail settings. Now I get the selected messages from the Visonic server directly in my mailbox. So this works
.
The messages look like the SMS messages from the GSM-unit. This is part of a message I got:
. About the same info can be found here (see the user comments) itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-visonic/id43 ... 43950?mt=8. So if this stays working you have direct e-mail support with a Powerlink2 without a service subscription at a alarm-station/central station (alarm centrale).

Only downside from this setup is that the Visonic server (and people working there) know your statusUnit ID: XXXXXXX
Event Type: Home Automation
Location: 2: Living Room

Re: Visonic Powerlink2
Hello Mfr.
Visonic is going to shutdown its IPMP service in a few weeks. I have received an e-mail with those "bad" News.
This has pushed me to look for other solutions:
1) To access directly to mi powermax from Internet through the installed powerlink2
2) To receive email notifications of events posted by powermax
You can see more in this thread: http://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=68&t=11159
