OTGW starts reporting zero values after sometime

Post by AlfredB »

Hi there,

I've just started using the OTGW and everything works as it should be but after working for about a day the OTGW starts reporting all zero values (no errors). The PS=1 command reports all values 0. This does not solve with a GW=R command, I have to disconnect and reconnect the power to solve this. In this stage the OTGW is still responding on any commands given. Also sometimes after a while the gateway starts working again and then continues to work for a while until the same issue returns. With the diagnostics firmware all tests are ok as far as I can tell.

The thermostat I'm using is a Remeha ISense and the boiler is a Remeha Tzerra Plus.

Anyone an idea what could be the cause of this? Thanks.

A story about what you think is happening is nowhere near as useful as providing a log showing the exact output of the OTGW.

You are totally right.

The gateway is running in monitor mode now without any issues, attached a log from a few minutes operation.

I've set it back in GW mode and keep logging with otmonitor meanwhile until it happens again.

Ok, I managed to get a log now. It always happens on the end of the afternoon it seems. It logs error 03.

Please find the log attached.

I've tested some more after the error 03 appeared and I'm not really sure how to get it working again. First I restarted the boiler and after that the otgw starts reporting all zero's. After that I restarted the otgw a few times and then after sometime it starts working again but not immediately after restarting it. I've attached the log while doing this, maybe this helps.

Found out how the gateway starts running again. It has something to do with the boiler (can it be power management or something? That the gateway expects a message and the boiler does not send anything and thus reports error 03?) and the way to get it running again is to just activate the DHW function (turn on the shower for example).

Attached a logfile from the error situation and, when the shower is turned on, the gateway starting to operate again.

The PS=1 command switches off logging. It would hope that it is obvious that logs with logging switched off are useless. When investigating a problem always make sure the gateway is in PS=0 mode.

Ah, check. Did not realize that PS=1 (needed that for domoticz) disables all logging. I'll spent some more time reading the documentation and give it a retry.
