Updated my rooted one tot 4.4.21 and downgraded the happ_thermostat and everything is working great now (just missing the double e meter function high/low rate).DennisD wrote:Well, I will try to connect my non rooted today and include my meteradapter to it. If that solves the issue I will root it. Is the latest software 4.4 still rootable? Because I know there was a software update on that one but didn't bother with updating. That one is still subscribed with eneco

Re: Toon as a domotica controller?
Hi Guys,
My name is Ronald and I am new here. I will be trying to root my Toon soon so it seemed like a good idea to register an account here in case I have questions.
Turns out; i already have a question.
I've purchased the USB 2.0 To TTL 6PIN Module from hobbyelectronica.nl/product/ch340g-seri ... converter/ as suggested somewhere in the beginning of this topic.
When plugged in it's recognised by Windows just fine. Problem is; how do I attach the wires to it
Seems basic, I know
Hope you guys can point me in the right direction

Thats because you didn't activate your Toon.makkie2002 wrote:I also upgraded successfully to 4.4.21 ... still root![]()
I however have a question on what you guys have as apps in your "menu".
I seem to be missing "rookmelder" and "bedien opties".
I think they were also not available when I was still at 3.x (not sure).
Have a look at my screenshot:
There's a small how-to somewhere on the forum

Hmmm ... race condition in inittab, please remove x11vnc from inittab and start it manually. You are not the only one, apparently. Need to look into that.
Re: Toon as a domotica controller?
Is it possible because i have at this moment an low SW version? (2.xx)

Could be. I don't really know what's causing this (yet).
Re: Toon as a domotica controller?
Small update : firmware update with the original fw. And looks now that vnc is working.

Re: Toon as a domotica controller?
Besides that i am more of a "view picture" kinda guy I have to connect the headers to both ends, to the USB stick and to the board.Toonz wrote:All described at the rooting manual in the Manuals/Tutorials topic :domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=87& ... mp;t=11235
The board part is described so i should be able to figure it out but that still leaves me with the usb stick header.
I'll try to upload a picture to make the thing clear

Re: Toon as a domotica controller?
No doubt there will be markings GND, TxD, RxD, Vcc, 5V and 3.3V on the other (in this picture invisible) side of the PCB.

Re: Toon as a domotica controller?
Hi,
Can someone point me to a (free) VNC viewer for iOS that works with the VNC server of Toon.
The ones I tried do not work, probably due to the special SSL encoding scheme in the VNC server of Toon.
Maybe it is possible to start the x11vnc with options to use other type of encryption that the "normal" VNC viewers understand?
For me encryption is not required because I always connect to my home network via VPN.

Re: Toon as a domotica controller?
Thanks, but I am specifically looking for a VNC viewer for apple ipad/iphone (iOS).im using ssvnc, a custom vnc application.
Best would be to have the option to turn off the encryption in the x11vnc server of Toon.
