warmwater on toon
Is it possible on the toon to set the warmwater off for the night?
i don't need it at night so i like to turn that off
you can see on the picture that the cv boiler is burning the whole night to get the water on temperature

Re: warmwater on toon
Check your boiler, some boilers switch hot water off under a certain cv temperature. If so you can arrange that easely by setting your night temp lower.
Homey, rooted Toon 1 and HomeAssistent.
Re: warmwater on toon
Normal it's the thermostat that should regulate the hotwater (as far as i know)
I know the Original nefit thermostat does this.

It is not possible on the original toon software. But maybe I can fix that. Let me think about that.

There is a selection on hot water: pre heat on/offTheHogNL wrote:It is not possible on the original toon software. But maybe I can fix that. Let me think about that.
i guess this is that feature, but you can only do this manually. it would be nice if selection = "slapen" that this automaticly is turned off and for all other selections on.
Re: warmwater on toon
i mean, off at slapen and weg
Re: warmwater on toon
Yes that is what I was thinking about. If it is possible to switch that in the GUI then it would be possible to switch that automatically when sleep or away is started.
However, it does depend on the boiler if it supports it but that is easily checked with the already existing menu button (when opentherm is available).

Re: warmwater on toon
or at a temp setting <17
Re: warmwater on toon
It looks like there is already something for it in the software. But I don't have opentherm so I can't test it.
Could you enable the feature DHW in the file /qmf/etc/qmf_release.xml?
So change the 0 to 1 like this:
Then reboot. And hopefully new settings for your hot water should be available.

Re: warmwater on toon
Will also turn it on tomorrow to test it. Namely, my boiler responds perfectly to the hot water button on Toon, and is displayed at Opentherm

Re: warmwater on toon
I modified the code a bit so the display control for hot water appears on my Toon (even without opentherm).
I now have second side panel which allows me to control the hot water (there is a boost +1h button which probably heats up the water for one hour).
Also I have a secondary week schedule for hot water and a menu button 'hot water'.
In the menu 'hot water' the toon is talking about a seperate 'hot water boiler'. That makes me think this is not for opentherm boilers with a small internal hot water reservoir. It is probably for those 150-300 liter hot water boilers. But still I don't understand what kind of module they expect to use to control that hot water boiler.
mAiden, if you could test the setting with your opentherm that would be nice. If you don't get extra menu's then my assumption is right that this is for a large hot water container/boiler.

Re: warmwater on toon
Looked a bit further in the code and I now believe that this hot water option is combined with a new zwave boiler module. This is probably for another Quby customer (not Eneco) currently.
Using the code would not work also as it requires that zwave module to operate.
Going back to the original plans to just switch on/off the preheating and lower the hot water temperature when sleep or away mode is in effect.

Re: warmwater on toon
Hi,
I've enbaled this setting and tested it:
When preheat is switched to on in the GUI, the small hot water boiler of my opentherm boiler is indeed kept heated; during nighttime the boiler runs every 2 hours for a few minutes.
When I switch off this setting, it does not preheat.
Would be actually nice if this setting switches automatically depending on the state of the thermostat. Not sure what the right way of doing this.
Away/Sleep: Off
Home/Comfort: On
Or
Use a certain target temperature to determine off/on (18C??)
But then, what happens in summer when the central heating is off (at least ours)?

Re: warmwater on toon
Well, in the summer it works the same (away and sleep no pre heating warmwater)
Re: warmwater on toon
Yes that would require you to not turn off the toon schedule in the summer. Just lower the home/comfort temperature so it will not start heating in a bit more colder summer day.
