No problem. Fine that my instructions help youhansgrave wrote:Last week i run the update script on two Toons: once from the second last firmware and once from firmware 4.16.8.
The update from the second last firmware went smooth but by the update from firmware 4.16.8 the proces hang at some point.
Following the instructions from mAiden did the job to get a working Toon back, thanx.

Re: Toon firmware - update script
Hi everyone,
Today I updated the Boxx from 4.13.6 to 4.22.7 using the script. It worked as a charm!
I am not sure to upgrade to version 5 or higher. Are some interesting features to take the risk?
Adios.

Re: Toon firmware - update script
Why not upgrade to the latest firmware? Booting the Toon/Boxx is a bit faster with 5.x.x firmware.Ojp wrote:Hi everyone,

My 2 cents: I read a lot of complaints about delays when taking the Toon out of dim state with firmware 5 on a Toon 1.TerrorSource wrote:Why not upgrade to the latest firmware? Booting the Toon/Boxx is a bit faster with 5.x.x firmware.Ojp wrote:Hi everyone,

I personally prefer 4.x on a Toon 1, feels faster.....booting speed is less relevant for me.
If you have a Toon 2 I would certainly move to version 5 due to better Wifi performance.

Re: Toon firmware - update script
I will try make a new connection via serial
Re: Toon firmware - update script
Removing the files in /HCBv2/tmp/opkg-cache will never hurt your toon. So the reason why ssh isn't working anymore is not because of this.
What was the previous firmware you where on and to which firmware where you updating to?
