Jean-Claude (jcw) is fully aware of what's going on.
Our primary objective is to show to all the Domoticans here what the Arduino platform has to offer; so that's why we felt this forum is the best first 'target' for finding people that are interested. Both Lennart and me have a Domotica background, so that's why we started here. But it's a good suggestion!

I actually bought the (an?) arduino starterkit and built most of the examples some time ago, but then it went onto the 'cool stuff to be used sometime' shelf...

One of my goals was to reduce battery usage and reduce 433 mhz congestion by building a single 'homeseer-compatible multi-sensor multi-actuator device'.
One that resides in the hallway, has a wireless interface to HomeSeer (e.g. via RfxCom or Wifi or anything else that is cheap to add to a PC) and replaces several battery-powered sensors that are now in use within a few meters from each other, like presence (pir: driveway, hallway) and 4 doors (garage-, front-, toilet-, livingroom-).
Once it's there and talks+listens to homeseer, it may just as well replace some KaKu sockets and micromodules that control the lights in it's neighbourhood (driveway, hallway, toilet).
And then part of the home automation coud even stay local and use no RF bandwidth (like switching toilet light and hallway light when specific doors open)
And then I could finally make an alarmsystem-status-indicator-like-a-trafficlight at my frontdoor.
And then I might be able to add more useful sensors at only little extra cost, like measuring light intensity outside.
Oh,and I almost forgot adding the gas/water/elctra measurements...

I don't know if all of this is possible, but a workshop would at least be a good reason to get this arduino kit off the shelf and in use again.
I understand the JeeNode implies communication with HomeSeer, so who knows what evolves from that...
And obviously it is nice to have another chance to meet & greet som of 'us'.

This is very encouraging; 16 replies, 1 of those being mine, so that means we have 15 members who would like to attend. Great!
The next step will be trying to pick a date where none of us has other obligations; that can be a tough one. I'll initiate this in the coming week.

A message to those who are interested but haven't replied yet: please do reply, cause it's still a close call: 1 member not being able to make it on the date chosen, will mean no workshop at all... it's that simple.
