Thank you for thsese good answers. It seems you're a techie guy like me :)
What is this "KAKU switch"? Is this something simillar to JeeNode? How it works? I can't find much info on the WEB.

I'm thinking of building cheap ZigBee/6lowPAN modules with attached 220V 6A dimmable outs for my custom home automation. I will use them for lighting control, blinds, ventilation and appliances and will be mounted behind normal switches. I would like to use SheevaPlug or simillar plug computer that is capable of running Java and use OpenRemote as automation and interface software. It's very nice and decent software, however it needs some more work.

The thing that stops me from using the same approach to heating control is that I can't make a good looking thermostat-like device.

Also I'm helping a friend that makes heating boilers and he would like to offer some kind of automation to his clients. He needs out of the box solution that looks good mounted on walls. It must have LCD and button controls (not a knob) and to communicate wirelessly to the valves. A bonus would be some PC communication port, so his system would play a role on a home automation system. He has found a china product that does all this, but there's no product guarantee and he is afraid to offer it to his clients.

KAKU = KlikAanKlikUit www.klikaanklikuit.nl
Comparable products are HomeEasy, Chacon and NEXA.

Is the Digimax something you would like? http://www.elekhomica.nl/product_info.p ... cts_id=233

The main problem for me still is the manual control part. controling the valves with HS is no problem (I use the Rain8 interface to open and close the valves, this gives 2 way comm).

What I missing is some simple thermostats in each room. they need a few things:
Display current Temp
Have a warmer/colder settings button.
Transmit the on/off signal to HS.
Cost not much more than €100 each.

Any ideas?

The Digimax as mentioned above is such a device.

Only two minutes response time!

Do I understand correct that the Digimax 210 is supported by RFXCOM? (without the normal digmax receiver unit?)

I couldn't find it under the supported products on the website.

I now see it is in the supported productslist on the receivers page, just not on the homepage.

Thanks, this looks like what I've been searching for.
