@marcel: Thanks for the link to the webshop! They have nice stuff. Besides the zigbee dmx controller, some other products caught my attention that I could find a use for:

- DMX-Servo interface

I'm still looking for a way to automate the toilet refresher . This would do the trick: have a number of aerosol toilet refresher cans, attach servos to these in some way, let the toilet visitor choose an odor (or let the HA system do this), translate this into the right DMX signal when the "user" leaves the toilet, use the DMX-Servo interface, and pssssst, you're done .

The merger could be used in combination with the Lanbox and, for instance, a DMX wall controller, such as these from Lagotronics:

But note that an SS13 X10 wall switch would probably do the same a lot cheaper (but less direct).

Lanbox, cant be any better then this http://demo.lanbox.com/LanBox.php.zip , control it via php. So it can be done with any linux tool you write, or write your own... i like it

yeah...

Girder has a built-in web server, that creates dynamic web pages using AJAX to handle buttons&sliders to switch/dim lights that are configured in girder (also other types of devices)...

The developer Ron (who is Dutch) added some additional client side javascript/html for the iphone web browser...

(the server side scripting language is lua)

I don't use that mechanism myself.

I use girder strictly for control and netremote on UMPC&TABLETPC&PDA for the user interface
(netremote also has a built-in webserver (only accessible INSIDE NetRemote screens), which I use a lot for the more complicated layouts, inside the various netremote screens, e.g. javascript newsticker, interactive SVG floorplan using AJAX technology etc. http://tinyurl.com/2mujvx)

@marcel, do you have a picture of the dmx panels with bright red for instance? and bright green? The ones from http://wiki.binkey.nl/DMX#DMX_Gallery look much brighter no?

I used a flash in my picture above when it was dark outside, which makes it look less bright than in reality.....

here's some pictures without a flash and with some daylight.
it still doesn't look like the real situation, though...

just don't use this type of panels as main lighting.

to compare, the bottom two lights above the bed are 40W normal lightbulbs

Is there any way to remove the border? So you could make 1 big giant square?

And btw, it looks much better allready then the first.

no, I opened one and that area contains the electronics

and also, the chinese love their hot glue [;)], so removing the frame just to repaint it, is also impossible...

the best thing about this setup is the logitech mx air mouse to control it [8D]...
I love that thing... I have one in my living room and one in my bedroom...

(In my bedroom, I also have an irtrans and a 'normal' infrared remote control and also a pda with wifi and netremote to allow changing channel.
But I normally use the mouse)

Hi Marcel,

I just got my Lanbox LCE (and also the one for snelvuur as we ordered a twin pack together . This device definitely beats the USB DMX controllers, such as the Enttec. Man, this thing really is what was needed all along for playing with DMX equipment . Controlling it using TCP/IP (using a webserver script or through LCEdit) is a breeze and it works great standalone. It also works well in combination with the Solarox led strip controller.

I also like the fact that you can just switch the Lanbox and the DMX devices on (and off) using a Xanura/X10 module, and after a few seconds of booting, it will just start playing its last program.

BTW do you have any nice cuelists that I could try on the Lanbox, given the fact that you also have 4 DMX panels?

I don't have anything exciting yet...

I'm currently only using 3 simple cue lists for the panels :
1) RGB ffffff when entering room
2) RGB 000000 when exiting room
3) fading from RGB 000000 -> ffffff in 15 minutes before alarm goes off in the morning...

I've got some rgb strip stuff (zigbee [8D]) from www.thewillows.nl on order...
(I think it will probably be a couple of weeks, because they seem to be out of stock on www.dmx4all.de)
