Im also looking into the global cache devices. Do they also accept ir commands from a ir remote control such as harmony ultimate and can these dummy commands trigger events in homeseer or whatever?

No, as far as i know you can only use the incomming ir-led for adding ir signals. If it was possible the location of the incomming ir-led is so poorely placed (i have irtach wifi-2-ir) that it cannot be used to receive ir from long distance. In that case i would use irtrans. Which also worked fine for me in the past.

I remember coming across that one as well sometime last year. But since their 'Latest News' is from July 4th, 2012 (!) I did not have much confidence in the company...
