I have now rooted my Toon and installed the latest fitmware 4.10.6 and installed toonstore and boiler status.

I installed the toon and the keteladapter/module (fw 37) to the ketel on port OT. I have the following ketel Remeha calenta CW5 it is an opentherm ketel.
I have the followong problem, if i go in Toon to "Instellingen" and then to "Verwarming" there is not an function to set to OpenTherm i see only by "Type verwarming = Warmte".

The app boiler status give's me to following output "Geen OpenTherm support. Deze tegel is vrij nutteloos".

What should be the problem??

I'm not sure about your boiler module.

The boiler status app has been designed to work with FW 3.0.29 until 3.5.4.
Later firmwares will not work with that app, resulting in the remark you get on that tile. You might as well remove it, since there's no upgrade planned for the near future.

Did you try different options in the scsync.xml file? Editing the value of "BoilerManagment" might be something, not sure though.

Hallo Forum,

I have read something about upgrading the firmware of Toon.
Question about updating a rooted Toon, I have rooted a Toon with firmware version 2.9.26 This is an early Toon and i want to upgrade this to a higher FW. version.
I understand that only a subscription with Eneco wil be a way to achieve this.
I don't have this subscription nor i be willing to take this subscription,
Now i found ad this at this site,
http://files.wunk.net/toon/
a image of as i can see is it Firmware version 4.7.23!
what i want to now is can this version 4.7.23 straight be installed over my Toons original FW. version 2.9.6, of should this be done stap by stap increased by a higher fw. version.
I don't want to bricked my Toon.

And as this is possible has it to in de update.tar.gz. of has it unpacked and in what map it has it to been dropped.
Is there somebody who can simplify the explaining step by stap.

Thanks.

Not sure if it's complete, but you can always try ...the worst that can happen is a bricked toon ... which is very probable :-)

In case you want to give it a shot: just unpack it somewhere and issue

opkg install *.ipk

If that screws up your toon, it wasn't me. Don't say that you haven't been warned.

Hello Marcel,

I have a question, just to be sure.
At this moment i don't receive an update, as i opened the OVPN connection earlier.
I also don't have a subscription with eneco, so i pay nothing.

Is it because of the "none subscription" that i won't receive the 4.10 or 4.11 update to my rooted toon?

Thanks for your info.

Regards,

@jozg,

You will received upgrades but you will be the last one it could take 24 weeks before you will receive something.
They are still rollout 4.10 for there customers after that they will open non subscription and that can take a long time.

Latest version for paid customers is 4.11.6 while 4.10.6 is still being deployed to Toon's without subscriptions.

Is it possible to disable the running processes:
25494 1 root S 22172 18% 0% HCBv2 hdrv_hue [OK] [S1|N1]
691 1 root S 22004 17% 0% HCBv2 happ_weather [OK] [S20|N1]

It is using some memory and I the free memory is low on my Toon and I don't use these.

What is the right way to disable these?

Yank 'em out of /etc/inittab ;-)

(But probably the rest of the code will start moaning. Every piece of code is connected to the other bits of proprietary code in some way).

That is is not the right place I discovered. Inittab is adjusted by /etc/init.d/HCBv2
Source is taken from /HCBv2/etc/start.d
These are empty files:

Code: Select all

/qmf/etc/start.d# ls -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 root 513 0 Sep 18 18:58 happ_eventmgr
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 happ_kpi
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 21 16:20 happ_pwrusage
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 21 16:20 happ_scsync
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 happ_smartplug
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 21 16:20 happ_thermstat
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 happ_usermsg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 happ_weather
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 21 16:20 hcb_bxtproxy
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 hcb_config
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 hcb_log
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 21 16:20 hcb_rrd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 21 16:20 hcb_watchdog
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 hdrv_hue
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 hdrv_p1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct 21 16:20 hdrv_zwave
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 18 18:58 lighttpd
I removed them from /HCBv2/etc/start.d: rm hdrv_hue happ_weather
Then ./HCBv2 restart and reboot Toon. (I think ./HCBv2 restart was not necessary)

Now they are gone in the process list.
Looks like Toon is still working.

Those are just empty files with the exec-bit set. They are used as flags to start up the real code (in /HCBv2/sbin). If you just make them non-executable (chmod 644), you should be good.

I don't see the exec bit set, if you look at the list above. They were all already 644 and are started.

My connection with Toon and Domoticz has been running fine for some time now but as of yesterday i am loosing the connection with Toon and my Domoticz system almost dies as of that.
I think the reason is that it can not acces /hdrv_zwave?action=getDevices.json and /happ_thermstat?action=getThermostatInfo anymore.
If i push the reset button on the Toon it starts working again for some time but after a few hours it loses the connection again.

The Toon is firmware version 4.10.6
And still running the stable version of Domoticz.

The only thing that i did yesterday was to update the waste app from 3.2 to 3.3 but i also did remove the app completely when it was giving me problems.

Any suggestions???

The update of the waste app from 3.2 to 3.3 was a very minor one. The update itself could not have caused it.
