Not that i mind all the posts, but direct email / msn / google talk goes faster. Since it seems your both working on the issue at hand.

oK Erik, i was trying to help Armani, but now i finished it. Alan you must find those menus and insert correct data. The logon box asks you for your DYNDNS account details. This is the maximum i can do. Best regards. Lorenzo

Hi both, suggestion to Alan, please only one step to do , but you don't follow me so much :) :), i asked you ip values : no response -- i asked you to look for the user manual : no response. i have never seen this router so i can not image menu structure, but you have got it in your hands , so look everywhere, take somescreenshots for example. you are near to bingo. do last step. bye. Sorry Erik for using forum space. but may be someother one will use this cooperative discussion to set his cams. I follow this rule, reading all of "domotica minds" like you to understand x10 rfxcom and so on. Be patient :) :). Lorenzo

About dyndns account that you created: section = dynamic dns! here input your user and password. for example in my router i must input user, password and name without (http:\\) of the account i created. About the port that must be opened go to or IP ADDRESS OR APPLICATION SHARING , there you must find something about port number (you insert 80 , if 80 is the value in the setting of dvr), sometimes you must define a range port START=80 END=80 , protocol used TCP/UDP better is BOTH, then may be it ask for a name : simply type the name you want! ,then it ask for the ip of the device corresponding to that port : it is the dvr's ip (the one i suggested you!). then you have a firewall you should enable INCOMING request, i don't think that hackers are looking for your pc.... with these settings it MUST WORK even from OUTSIDE so with explorer at your dyndns address. bye

I have tried to enter config in the bt homehub but it does not accept it.
entered correct user name, p/w, and hostname armanitoo.dyndns.org.
still not accept, yet dyndns confirms that this is correct. alan

which is exact error message? if you go to your dyndns account, in My services -> hostname do you last ip detected of your pc (the ip given to you by your internet service provider)? did you open the port 80?..... oh my God! i've just found this, (may your bios doesn't accept dyndns) if so you should update with one working, but it's difficult and dangerous. you'll have to set everything again of isp account. So do it with a technician!

http://dyndnscommunity.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=10&t=80
The BT Home Hub is supplied as part of the UK operator's ADSL package.
It is an extremely capable device, but poorly documented.

It supports dynamic DNS and can be accessed by going to the admin account, advanced configuration:dynamic dns

It used to be possible to remotely access the hubs for management, but this has been removed in a firmware update last year, nevertheless the dyndns service indicates when the hub was last reset as BT uses dynamic IP addresses.

Hi All, well I'm please to let you know that my cctv remote access has been sorted !!! I'm sure that you are all more pleased than me.
A VERY BIG THANK YOU to Erik, and also Drmacchi who almost lost his cool with my very poor knowlege but he stuck in there.
I finally got a technician to complete the work, well you did'nt think I could do it.
I only wish that one day my house could have the systems like Bwired, well I can always dream???

Regards to all

Well done Alan , i'm happy for you! I did all my best, but just a question: what was the problem? what has the technician done?. Then about domotica: it's more simple than configuring a router , you could start with simple devices like x10 stuff. I'm not a technician (i'm a pharmacist!)but i was able to do many things simply reading product's user manual and reading this WONDERFUL FORUM. then you can start only with "hardware" domotica, no software to configure, controlling it with a remote. When you are sure to manage you could start with Homeseer software for example. best regards. Lorenzo

hi Drmacchi, well he sorted the cctv by using a remote webcam access site which has a free set up for 30 days, he said that i need a buisness broadband with a fixed ip and a new router as mine does not allow port forwarding, so I hope to sort this out when i return from Germany next week. we drove here today and this time it has taken 13 hours as there was a terrible accdent on tha A2 which closed the motorway for 4 hours, still we are here know.
Will keep you updated soon. Regards Alan.
